The Conservative Ire Against Nelson Mandela

Ever since Nelson Mandela died this week at the age of 95, my Facebook feed's been erupting with bitter complaints which leave me baffled. I genuinely don't understand the conservative criticism of Mandela; though he did indeed ally with Communists to fight apartheid, the government he installed when given the chance was not a Marxist one. The complaint seems to be "If he couldn't fight apartheid sans help from Commies, he shouldn't have fought apartheid at all." And, while I have zero love for Communism, an ideology that's been consistently disastrous every time it's been applied, I am very glad FDR and Churchill were not such purists back in the days when allying with literally murderous Commies was their only real chance of successfully fighting Hitler and the Nazis.

Here's some food for thought for you:

Nelson Mandela was the head of UmKhonto we Sizwe, (MK), the terrorist wing of the ANC and South African Communist Party. He had pled guilty to 156 acts of public violence, including mobilizing terrorist bombing campaigns, which planted bombs in public places, including the Johannesburg railway station. Many innocent people, including women and children, were killed. Source: The State v. Nelson Mandela et al, Supreme Court of South Africa, Transvaal Provincial Division, 1963-1964, Indictment.

THE ANC'S VICTIMS WERE MOSTLY CIVILIANS:
1981 – 2 car bombs at Durban showrooms
1983 – Church Street Bomb (killed 19, wounded 217)
1984 – Durban car bomb (killed 5, wounded 27)
1985-1987 – At least 150 landmines on farm roads (killed 125)
1985 – Amanzimtoti Sanlam shopping centre bomb Dec 23 (killed 2 women and 3 children)
1986 – Magoo’s Bar bomb (killed 3, wounded 69)
1986 – Newcastle Court bomb (wounded 24)
1987 – Johannesburg Court bomb (killed 3, wounded 10)
1987 – Wits command centre car bomb (killed 1, wounded 68)
1988 – Johannesburg video arcade (killed 1 unborn baby, wounded 10)
1988 – Roodepoort bank bomb (killed 4, wounded 18)
1988 – Pretoria Police housing unit, 2 bombs (wounded 3)
1988 – Magistrate’s Court bomb (killed 3)
1988 – Benoni Wimpy Bar bomb (killed 1, wounded 56)
1988 – Witbank shopping centre bomb (killed 2, wounded 42)
1988 – Ellis Park Rugby Stadium car bomb; killed 2, wounded 37
Late 1980s – numerous Wimpy Restaurant bombs (killed many, wounded many)
* The ANC also made explosives disguised as children's toys. Apartheid was wrong, but Mandela was a violent, Marxist, terrorist.

Contrary to popular belief, the vast majority of blacks in South Africa aren’t natives, but came by the millions from neighboring countries only after the white Boers created a country with a thriving economy, education opportunities and medical benefits.

Under white rule, blacks in South Africa enjoyed better living conditions than any other African country, where blacks kill each other in tribal warfare.

In 1994, the same year Mandela took power, the Hutu tribe killed 800,000 Tutsis in Rwanda. Similar tribal genocides have taken place in Congo, Somalia, Ethiopia, Chad, Mali, Zimbabwe, Angola and many more African countries. Tribal savagery and genocide has always been a way of life for Africans.

Since Mandela took over, South Africa has become a Third World country. It went from being the safest country in Africa, to being the rape and murder capital of the world. In Johannesburg, 5,000 people are murdered every year. Unemployment went from 5% in 1994 to 50% today.

South Africa also has the largest number of people infected with HIV/AIDS in the world. In 2007, over 18% of adults, or 5,700,000 people had AIDS. In 2010, an estimated 280,000 died of AIDS.

- This is completely outrageous. So the white Boers "created" a country in SA eh? How did they do that I wonder?

You talk about tribal genocides as if it's exclusively an African thing. You're clearly trying to paint a single narrative of africa as a savage tribal land that should be happy that the white man came to "save them".. But it is that same white man that destroyed their way of life, carved up borders and pit tribes against one another, while they quietly steal anything of value.

Funny how every single one of your "bombings" happened while Mandela was in jail.
